What is the weather like in Ericeira?

Answer

Ericeira has a mild oceanic climate, moderated by the Atlantic. It's one of the reasons the town is liveable year-round.

Summer (June–September): Warm and dry. Daytime temperatures of 22–28°C, though it can hit 30°C+ during heat waves. Evenings cool down to 16–19°C - you'll almost always want a light jacket after sunset. Very little rain.

Autumn (October–November): Still pleasant. 16–22°C with occasional rain. The water is actually warmest in September–October (19–20°C) due to summer heat retention.

Winter (December–February): Mild but wet. Daytime 12–16°C, nighttime 8–10°C. Regular rain, but also plenty of sunny days between storms. Ocean temperature drops to 14–15°C.

Spring (March–May): Gradually warming. 15–22°C with decreasing rain. Wildflowers everywhere. Water starts warming from April.

One thing to note: Ericeira can be windier and 2–3°C cooler than Lisbon due to its exposed Atlantic position. Always bring a windbreaker. Check real-time conditions on our weather page.
