Ericeira vibrated with another edition of the open water swimming event
More than 250 swimmers took part in the latest edition of the Milha da Ericeira open-water race at Praia dos Pescadores. Athletes competed in the half-mile and mile distances, while young swimmers from the Escola de Natação das Piscinas Municipais raced the mini-mile.
Winners of the half-mile were Diogo Cruz, José Nunes and Stefano Finotti in the men’s category and Claudia Schulz, Beatriz Palma and Jenna Batchelder in the women’s. In the mile, Bruno Ruas, Luís Correia and Eduardo Castelo finished first, second and third for men, and Ana Cordeiro, Eduarda Bugalho and Joana Arantes for women. The event was organised by the Município de Mafra with support from Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos – Marinha Portuguesa, Bombeiros Voluntários da Ericeira, Docapesca, Kayak Aventura Ericeira and Clube Naval da Ericeira.
