Mafra | Lifeguards rescue unconscious man at Foz do Lizandro
A 68-year-old man was rescued unconscious at Foz do Lizandro beach in Mafra municipality on the morning of 16 June. Lifeguards on duty raised the alarm at about 11:50 after the swimmer got into difficulty.
SeaWatch project staff and Ericeira Volunteer Firefighters responded. With help from bystanders, lifeguards brought the man ashore. Resuscitation efforts restored consciousness, and he was taken to hospital.
