Students explore coastal biodiversity on European Maritime Day
Students from local schools marked European Maritime Day with a coastal exploration in Ericeira. They played the educational game Teias Troficas to learn about marine food chains and how species adapt to salinity and temperature.
Guided visits to tide pools followed, where pupils used magnifying glasses and field guides to observe algae and invertebrates in their natural habitat. The event aimed to boost ocean literacy and encourage active citizenship for coastal protection.
