The day cycling united the sea with the interior of the Concelho de Mafra
The 87th Volta a Portugal passed through the Concelho de Mafra on 10 August. The peloton entered at Barril, followed the coast through São Lourenço, Ribamar and Ericeira, then moved inland via Seixal, Pinhal de Frades, Achada, Sobreiro and Salgados. A flying finish was held in Mafra before the riders continued to Carapinheira, Igreja Nova and Cheleiros.
Residents lined the roads to cheer the cyclists from start to finish. The Câmara Municipal de Mafra thanked everyone who came out to support the event.
