The EDP Ericeira Pro 2026 is underway: the world's best surfing is back
The EDP Ericeira Pro 2026 opened this week at Ribeira d’Ilhas, the penultimate stop on the WSL Challenger Series. The event runs until 12 October and will decide the final ten men and six women who qualify for the 2027 Championship Tour.
Eduardo Silva, councillor at Câmara Municipal de Mafra, said the contest highlights the region’s ocean assets and marks 50 years of surfing in the parish next year. The event is backed by EDP, Turismo de Portugal, Câmara Municipal de Mafra, Xacobeo 2027, Ericeira Reserva Mundial de Surf, Estrella Galicia, MEO, Red Bull, Millennium BCP, You & The Sea Hotel e Apartamentos, Drivalia, Turismo de Lisboa, Delta and Go Chill.
