West Games: Mafra strengthens status in Fitness
West Games Mafra drew a record 850 athletes from Portugal, Spain, Ukraine and the United Kingdom to the Parque Desportivo Municipal de Mafra over three days. The 146 teams competed in four categories at three simultaneous venues, with events ranging from rowing and skiing machines to running, functional training, weightlifting and swimming.
Organiser Filipe Gomes of CrossFit BoarLand called the event memorable for its punctual schedule and international reach. The Câmara Municipal de Mafra again backed the competition, with Councillor Eduardo Silva praising the teamwork that made use of the municipality’s sports facilities. Ten thousand euros in prize money were awarded across all podiums.
