Esplanada Furnas

Esplanada Furnas is the beach restaurant experience at its most pure - tables on the sand, waves crashing in front of you, grilled fish on the plate, and a cold beer in hand. It doesn't get more simple or more perfect than this.

The restaurant sits directly on Praia das Furnas, a small cove beach between cliffs. You're literally eating on the beach - sand between your toes, salt air, the full sensory experience.

The food is simple: grilled fish, seafood rice, salads, and cold drinks. The fish is fresh and the grill does the work. Don't overthink the order - get the catch of the day, a salad, and a bottle of vinho verde. Done.

Go for lunch on a sunny day - this is not a dinner destination. The magic is the afternoon sun, the sound of waves, and the complete absence of any reason to be anywhere else. Don't plan anything after lunch here; you won't want to leave.

Access is via a steep path down to the beach. The restaurant operates seasonally - typically open from spring through early autumn, weather dependent. No reservations; just show up. Gets busy on summer weekends.
