Lapoint Ericeira

Lapoint is a Swedish-founded surf camp brand, and their Ericeira location is one of their flagship properties. The concept is simple: arrive alone, leave with a crew of new friends and measurably better surfing.

The house is a converted Portuguese villa with a pool, garden, and communal areas designed for socializing. It's well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing - this isn't a rundown backpacker crash pad. The pool area is where most of the social life happens.

Surf coaching is the core product. Daily sessions with experienced instructors, video analysis, and a progressive curriculum that adapts to your level. Beginners start at Foz do Lizandro with whitewash basics; intermediates hit Ribeira d'Ilhas for green wave practice. They take you to different breaks each day based on conditions.

The daily schedule is structured but not rigid: morning surf, brunch, free time or activities, afternoon surf or yoga, dinner, and social time. Meals are included and surprisingly good - healthy, varied, and communal.

Solo travelers make up the majority of guests, and the social design is built around this. Group dinners, shared rooms, organized outings - you'll have friends by the end of day one.

Packages run one or two weeks. One week is enough to feel the improvement; two weeks is where the real progression happens. Book early for summer - Lapoint fills up fast, especially July and August.
