"BlueNights" brought together more than a hundred participants in Ericeira to discuss the future of the ocean
More than 140 mayors, specialists, entrepreneurs and citizens attended BlueNights – Uma noite para descobrir o oceano at Casa de Cultura Jaime Lobo e Silva in Ericeira. The event, organised by ASPEA under the EduMar project with support from Município de Mafra, brought marine research closer to the public through science, culture and community activities.
Hugo Moreira Luís, President of Câmara Municipal de Mafra, stressed that scientific knowledge helps shape better decisions for the coastal zone and balances natural heritage protection with community life. The evening’s interactive sessions underlined the municipality’s commitment to environmental citizenship and marine-ecosystem preservation.
