Rural fires: Mafra strengthens coordination and operational resources
Mafra presented its rural fire prevention device today, with Secretary of State for Civil Protection Rui Rocha stressing that "together we are few". The ceremony gathered the Municipal Civil Protection Service, Municipal Police, three fire brigades (Mafra, Malveira, Ericeira), Sapadores Bombeiros Florestais, the Army, GNR, Maritime Police and the National Maritime Authority.
The event also marked the opening of the refurbished Centro de Meios Aéreos, equipped with new operational resources that will serve Mafra, the Lisbon Metropolitan Area and the Oeste region. The helicopter conducted a training flight over the municipality as the Charlie prevention phase began, running until 30 June.
