Ericeira has a strong café culture and several spots actively welcome remote workers with good wifi and plenty of outlets.
Balagan: The unofficial remote worker canteen. Fast wifi, ocean-front rooftop terrace, specialty coffee from Lisbon-based roastery Baobá, and a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern menu for when you need a lunch break. You'll see half the tech community here on any given weekday morning. Weekday mornings are quietest for focused work.
Break Point: A cliff-top spot with views over the surf breaks. Solid wifi and the perfect setup for checking the waves between commits. Gets busy on weekends, but weekday mornings are ideal for deep work.
Organic Way: Healthy food, good coffee, solid wifi, and plenty of outlets. A favorite among the local remote worker crowd. The organic smoothies are a nice alternative to your fourth espresso.
Sunset Bamboo: Laid-back spot with good wifi and a relaxed atmosphere that genuinely welcomes laptops. Easy to settle in for a few hours of focused work. One of the more nomad-friendly cafés in town.
Hurley: Hurley's Ericeira hub combines surf culture with a cowork-friendly café environment. Grab a coffee, check the surf, and get some work done - all in one spot.
Tip: An espresso runs €1.50, specialty coffee €3–4. Average wifi across town is around 88 Mbps. Most cafés are open 8am–6pm - plan accordingly if you work late. For longer sessions or video calls, a dedicated coworking space may be more practical.
