Arquivo-Museu da Misericórdia reopens with exhibition on the Last Royal Voyage
The Arquivo-Museu da Misericórdia has reopened with a new exhibition titled “D. Manuel II e a última viagem Real.” The display features previously unseen photographs of the exiled king alongside King George V and Queen Mary at Ascot and Wimbledon.
The show traces the monarch’s life from childhood through exile, highlighting Ericeira’s role as the departure point from Praia dos Pescadores on 5 October 1910. Items on loan include a model of the royal yacht Amélia from the Museu de Marinha. The museum, at Largo da Misericórdia, is open daily with varying hours.
