Formula 1 Returns to Portugal: Tickets on Sale From Monday

Formula 1 is coming back to Portugal. The 2027 Portuguese Grand Prix will be held from 18 to 20 June at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, the ninth round of the season and one without a sprint. It sits on the calendar between Monaco (6 June) and Silverstone (4 July). The track returns after a six-year absence, with a two-year contract covering 2027 and 2028, and effectively replaces Zandvoort, which leaves the calendar after 2026.

Ticket sales open on 21 September 2026 at 10:30am Lisbon time. The only official ticketing site is portugalf1gp.com, which currently shows a countdown and a "Notify me" sign-up for a launch-day email. The second official channel is the F1 store, where a waitlist for General Admission tickets is open with the promise of presale access. Hospitality and Paddock Club tickets are also waitlist-only for now.

Sales are split into four phases. The first covers three-day General Admission tickets, grandstand seats, and hospitality packages; single-day tickets, camping and parking are expected to follow later. Prices will be announced on launch day. Going by comparable Monza- and Barcelona-style races, DAZN is reportedly targeting an average ticket price of around €300-€350, with grandstand seats considerably more, though that is an estimate rather than an official figure.

Beware of resellers: the top search results for Portuguese Grand Prix tickets currently include sites branded "Official Tickets," such as portugal.gp and tickets.gp. These belong to the Czech company TicketsGP, which states in its own small print that it has no connection to F1 and offers no refunds. The circuit is specifically asking fans to buy only through its official platform.

On logistics: the circuit sits about 10km from Portimão, roughly 80km (an hour's drive via the A22) from Faro Airport, and 290km from Lisbon. Portimão, Alvor and Lagos are the obvious places to stay. June is high season in the Algarve, so organisers recommend booking accommodation as soon as tickets go live. A week of events is planned around the race, with organisers encouraging visitors to stay the full week rather than just the three race days.
