“Jagozes - Continuity and Resistance”: book portrays the fishing community of Ericeira
The public presentation of the book “Jagozes - Continuity and Resistance” will take place on 27 June at 15:00 in the Casa de Cultura Jaime Lobo e Silva in Ericeira.
The work by photographer Nuno Rocha documents daily life in the fishing community, from sea activity and fish preparation to sales at the lota and social gatherings. It records the shift from wooden to aluminium boats and includes the procession of Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem.
Published by the Câmara Municipal de Mafra with Portugal 2030 support, the book preserves memories and practices that continue to shape local identity.
