Lieutenant Commander João Rosado Gaspar is the new Captain of the Port of Cascais
Lieutenant Commander João Miguel Rosado Gaspar took office yesterday as Captain of the Port and Local Commander of the Maritime Police of Cascais, which includes the Ericeira Life-Saving Station. He succeeds Captain José Manuel Marques Coelho, who had held the post since October 2023.
The ceremony took place at the Cascais Port Authority facilities and was presided over by Director-General of the Maritime Authority Diogo Arroteia. Representatives from Mafra municipality, the Public Prosecution Service and several parish councils attended. The new captain stressed the need to balance mission demands with staff well-being while ensuring safety and respect for the law.
