August is the month of the Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Boa Viagem
The Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Boa Viagem will take place in Ericeira from 7 to 16 August. The 79-year-old event celebrates the patron saint of local fishermen and combines religious and secular traditions.
Highlights include a sand-and-salt carpet on 13 August, a fado night on 12 August, and a closing concert by Bandidos do Cante on 16 August. A sea procession with fireworks is scheduled for 15 August, weather permitting, while the final day features a band parade, solemn mass, and street procession.
