Mafra | 2026 Bathing Season starts tomorrow with restrictions at Calada and Coxos
The 2026 bathing season begins tomorrow, 13 June, across the 12 beaches of Mafra municipality and runs until 13 September.
Eight of the beaches are designated coastal and transitional bathing waters. Praia da Calada will remain closed for the entire season due to unstable cliffs, while Praia dos Coxos keeps its limited-use classification. Water quality tests from 3 June showed all sampled beaches suitable for swimming.
