Support for federated sport, taxation and urban planning were the main topics of the Council Meeting
On 21 August the Câmara Municipal approved measures to improve services, promote energy-efficient housing and guide territorial planning.
Support for federated sport was granted to talented OCR and pentathlon athletes, and financial aid was approved for around 50 athletes with disabilities from APERCIM. The council also authorised the use of municipal facilities and financial contributions to local associations.
A public consultation was opened on changes to the Regulamento de Benefícios Fiscais, introducing IMI reductions of up to 20 % for rented homes, properties of public interest and buildings rated A or upgraded to a higher energy class. A four-year public tender for urban-waste collection and transport was approved, and the public-interest status of the Tratolixo landfill re-engineering project in Abrunheira was recognised.
